EnhanceMovie :: If You Can't Open a File

It may happen that you can't open a file you want to play or edit with EnhanceMovie.
There are three possible reasons why it happens:

1. You are opening a file that is not a video file.
With EnhanceMovie, you can open only files that have the following formats and extensions: AVI Movie(*.avi), MPEG Movie (*.mpeg, *.mpg), Windows Media Movie (*.wmv) and Quick Time Movie (*.mov). If you try to open a file that has any other extension, you will get an error message:

2. You are opening a file that has been corrupted.
A file may get corrupted when you download it or modify it with a video editing software (for example, when you turn off the computer while saving the file). There can be other ways of corrupting a file, such as hardware failure, software bugs and so on. If you try to open a corrupted file, you will get the same error message:

3. You are opening a file that uses a codec you don't have installed in your system.
Since the AVI files are dependent on codecs, it may happen that a file you are trying to open is compressed with a codec you don't have. In this case, you will get a message as shown below. There is no need to panic, though. Just follow the link in the message to obtain the codec you need.

You will need QuickTime version 5.0.2 or later fully installed on your computer if you want to open .MOV files. If you don't have QuickTime installed, you will get the message shown below. Just click the link in the message to download QuickTime for free.

To open Windows Media Files (.WMV), you should have Windows Media components installed on your computer. If you don't have Windows Media Player installed, the message shown below will appear. Click the provided link to download Windows Media Player from the Microsoft website.

If you experience other problems opening the files, please contact our Technical Support.
