Google Voice is a service by Google providing call forwarding and voicemail services, voice and text messaging, plus international call termination for Google Account users. It's a free service allowing users to gain a local phone number which can route calls, texts, and voicemails to their personal phone.
Here are a few key features of Google Voice:
- Call forwarding. You can forward incoming calls to your Google Voice number to any other phone numbers you choose, like your home, work, or mobile phone numbers.
- Voicemail with transcription. Google Voice provides a voicemail feature and even automatically transcribes your voicemails into text.
- International calling. Google Voice allows you to make low-cost calls to international numbers.
Google Voice's built-in feature allows for Google voice call recording. To use this feature, follow these steps:
Step 1. Open Google Voice to record a call
Open Google Voice and log in to your account.
Go to Google Voice
Step 2. Adjust the settings
If you click on the gear icon, it will open up the settings. From there, navigate to Calls. Find Incoming Call Options and make sure voice recording is enabled. Now, you can manually record calls (not automatically).
Step 3. Record an outgoing call
Start or receive a call. Press 4 on your keypad to start recording calls in Google Voice. You will hear a voice announcement about the recording. To stop recording, press 4 again, or end the call.
