How to stabilize a video with Movavi Video Editor

Wondering how to stabilize a video? Try Movavi Video Editor! With this app, you can stabilize a shaky video in just a few clicks. The software also offers many other features, including filters, transitions, color correction, titles, background removal, and more.

Here’s how to stabilize a shaky video with Movavi Video Editor.

Step 1. Download and install the app

Click the download button and run the installation file. Then install the program and launch it.

Step 2. Import your video

Click Add Files and select the video you want to stabilize. The video will appear in Project files. Drag the video and place it on the timeline.

Step 3. Stabilize your video

From the menu on the left, select More tools. Then pick Stabilization from the list of editing tools and click Stabilize. A dialogue window will open where you can indicate the desired settings for stabilization.

Adjust the Accuracy slider to set how precisely you want the video to be analyzed for shaking. Higher accuracy will give a better result, but it will also take more time.

The Shaking slider sets how much shaking is visible on the video.

Open Advanced settings to set the values for Radius and Smoothing. We recommend setting smaller values for more dynamic videos to achieve a better result.

You can also choose one of the options from the Edge cropping drop-down list. You might need to crop the edges of your video if there are some distortions, like blurred areas.

Hit Stabilize and wait till the video is processed. Then you can click Preview to see the result. If everything’s OK, click Apply

Step 4. Edit your video (optional)

At this point, you can use other editing tools if needed. Available options include adding music, transitions, filters, titles, and stickers. You can also use manual color correction tools. Masks will help you highlight or blur some objects on your video.

Step 5. Export your video

To save the result, click Export. Set the parameters for your output video and click Start

Great! Now you know how to stabilize a video with Movavi Video Editor.
